Women Build
with Habitat for Humanity
What is Women Build? Habitat for Humanity
International's Women Build department promotes the involvement of women in
the construction of Habitat houses. Women-built projects provide an
opportunity for women to learn construction in a supportive environment.
Women Build works through affiliates to nurture, recruit and train women to
build and maintain simple, decent, healthy and affordable homes.
The 2008 Women Build will start January 17th with Women Build workdays every Thursday and Saturday until the job is done. The Women Build house is located at 3801 W. Moreno St. in Pensacola (view map). Work begins at 8 a.m. Bring a sack lunch, water bottle, and gloves. All necessary tools will be provided at the site.
Any woman is welcome to help on any of this days. If you would like to help please RSVP by phone 850.434.5456 or via email to
volunteer@pensacolahabitat.org and put "Women Build" and the date you
plan to work in the subject line. Volunteers will be notified weekly to confirm
workdays, and will be contacted in the event of a cancellation.
The Northwest Florida section will have a special SWE day for this Women Build event on March 8th. Please mark your calendars and RSVP for this day!
