The Society of Women Engineers is the largest non-profit educational and service organization representing both student and professional women in engineering and technical fields.

Welcome!

Our first meeting in 2008 was on January 12th! We discussed many exciting opportunities and activities for the upcoming year including:

  • 01.17.08 through 05.10.2008 Habitat for Humanity Women's build in Pensacola (see Community Outreach)

  • 01.28.2008 The 54rd Annual West Panhandle Regional Science and Engineering Fair for middle and high school students at UWF, Monday, January 28th -- adult volunteers needed! Email sciencefair@uwf.edu with questions or requests for more information

  • 02.02.2008 Math Counts -- judging opportunities at this Florida Engineering Society sponsored event.

  • 02.05.2008, 02.07.2008, 03.04.2008, 03.06.2008, 04.01.2008, 04.03.2008, I Love Science--hands-on experiments for fifth grade classes at Lewis Middle School just outside the Eglin Air Force Base (see Community Outreach).

  • 02.21.2008 Engineer's Week -- Banquet at the National Museum of Naval Aviation NAS Pensacola (see below)

  • 03.08.2008 SWE day at the Habitat Humanity Women Build in Pensacola (see Community Outreach).

  • 04.12.2008 Junior League Science Explosion - in the Fort Walton Beach area.

  • 04.26.2008 Super Saturday Event at Edge Elementary -- a day of hands-on science and engineering for 4th through 8th graders.

  • UWF Summer Camps -- mentorship opportunities.
We really are focusing on encouraging students to get excited about careers in math and science! Please contact us if you would like to participate in any of these events.

We've updated the FY08 Section Officers but we still have open positions.  We'd love to have you!
